Fuerteventura - the windy canary island

It was October. It was getting colder in Switzerland. Winter was knocking on the door. I don't like that. I prefer warmer temperatures as you can imagine ;-) So I decided to go for some more degrees of celcius. We, my girlfriend and me, took the plane for Fuerteventura. It's the second biggest island of the canaries. Surrounded be a wonderful beach it's in the Atlantic Ocean just a few hundred kilometres in front of Morocco.
What can you do there? We didn't went there for Kiting or Surfing, nor for bathing, or biking. We went there to enjoy temperatures over 20 degres. Every day we went for a nice walk on the beach. Just wonderful!
We stayed at Melia Gorriones near Costa Calma. I really can recomend this Hotel. Nice rooms (casas del Mar), good service, a nice and very spacious garden with a pool and the most important thing: almost excellent food!!!

a good week in tuscany

It has been a long time since I wrote the last time. Yes, that's right the swiss way of life 's got me back. Working all day in an office where is now sand and no water. It's a big difference.
But lukily they have to give me at least 5 weeks off :-) During the last week off I took a change and went to a small little village near Florence in Italy.
This week included playing tennis, swimming in the pool, eating great food and drinking, let's call it drinking wine.... You know what? That is life. Doing whatever you want whenever. But you have to see that for yourselve or just book one of these beautiful villas in Tuscany

had a very delicious fondue yesterday. but there is still one thing I want to do. To see my friends

Colombo fever goes Doha pearl

thank you for reading this blog. But soon you have to find another blog to read. In 18 hours I take my plane to Doha. There I will have a look at the works for the Football World Cup. I gonna check if they do a good job. I will stay at Doha Pearl to taste the Arabic Riviera life.
How comes? Well when I was in Colombo I met the boss of Doha Tourism. We were talking for hours and hours having beer after beer and he told me that they would have some problems with this project (Pearl) So I will be the trouble shooter and help them out.I will get a superb salary and a house on this small island you can see at picture 32 my home

So after this one hour 45 minutes dream at Doha airport I have my connecting flight to Zurich. So Switzerland be prepaired. I 'll  be back on Feb 19th 2011.

an island for big city life

hi folks

yes its true something is happening in my life. There is a big change in my life. Its probably the biggest change I've ever had. But I start from the beginning.

I quited my job on Vakarufalhi on Feb 5^th and flew directly to Colombo, Sri Lanka. It's a one and half hour flight to this whole different life.

Here's a list of things that changed in my life:

• I can't see the end of the island anymore
• there are a lot of people
• the hotel I'm staying has a pool
• the main spoken language is english (not Italian as before)
• there are streets, cars, and even some trains
• the biggest change is: I sometimes have to wear shoes!!!!!!

Colombo or Mount Lavinia is a nice place. It's so different than Maldives of course. I like this city. I'm feeling at home. No worries I'm not staying my whole life here. I'm coming back soon. But first I like to feed you with some pictures.....

ein paar Bilder

fluktuaktion und romantik auf der insel

arbeiten im paradies ist nicht immer einfach. es gibt regeln, die man als kellner, roomboy, gärtner usw einhalten muss. diese regeln snd nicht für alle ganz gleich. ich darf an die bar und in die zimmer der gäste. aber die malediver, sri lanki, inder und thais man dürfen das nicht. die sind sehr eingeschränkt durch diese regeln vom management. das gefällt den mitarbeitern natürlich nicht, da sie sogar zum schnorcheln eine bewilligung brauchen!!! das führt dazu, dass die fluktuaktionsrate leicht erhöht wurde in den letzten monaten. viele haben einen anderen job gefunden und sind abgereist. so auch ein mädchen, dass an der bar gearbeitet. eine sri lanki. wieso ich das erzähle, könnt ihr euch denken. nochmal überlegen, genau!
nun ist sie leider abgereist. ich vermisse sie sehr. sie kommt ev zurück, weiss es aber noch nicht. sie kommt aber nur wegen mir ;-) immerhin. ein bisschen kulturaustausch gefällig! ich war natürlich sehr traurig, doch die leute helfen einem darüber hinweg zu kommen. es geht mir besser, fehlen tut mir aber schon was, ist ja klar.
ihr wollt nun bestimmt bilder sehen? ja die spar ich mir. es gibt keine für euch.
später vielleicht.

eine beziehung führen auf der insel ist sehr schwierig und aufwändig. denn man ist ja ständig am arbeiten und kann nicht mal übers weekend (welches) in sein ferienhaus (welches!!) abhauen und traute zweisamkeit geniessen. man wird beobachtet. denn eigentlich sind beziehungen (jeglicher art) verboten. Trotzdem leben sehr viele in einer. Auch teile des Managements.... gute vorbilder;-) es dauert so alles ein bisschen länger. sich kennenlernen usw. doch das ist ja gerade der reiz. da läuft was, aber niemand weiss etwas darüber.
als sie dann abreiste, ging einigen ein lichtchen auf, als ich da plötzlich am steg stand und mich verabschiedet habe... :-)
jetzt bleibt mir nichts anderes als zu warten. ev kommt sie, oder ich kriege ein paar tage urlaub. ersteres möglich, zweites unwahrscheinlilch. sie hat den vertrag zwar gekündigt, aber vor der ablauf der frist. sie hätte noch 3 monate arbeiten müssen. doch weil die mama krank ist, hat man ne ausnahme gemacht. vielleicht holt sie die drei monate noch nach.

ja ihr hend das richtig xe. ich han mini haare gschnitte!! Abrasiert hends mer sie. Ich han drum ebe e Wett verlore. Es isch drum gange, dass ich ufhöre rauche. En andere het gfunde, ich schaffi das nid.
da ich ja wieder rauche, hends mer d Haare gschnitte. Das ghört zur Wett. Wer A sagt muss auch B sagen!!!! gel Dad?!!!

ohne haare dafür mit parong, typisch maledivischer Rock; aber es lache isch mer nid vergange:-)

gute und schlechte nachrichten

spezialwünsche

es gibt ja viele wünsche, die ich so tagtäglich höre:
mehr trinkwasser auf das zimmer bekommen
einen weiteren tisch und stuhl zum russisch lernen
oder ein romantisches dinner am strand

doch gestern hatte ich etwas ganz besonderes
ein paar wollte, dass ich, während sie am abend
am strand prosecco schlürfen, saxophon spiele
das war mal ein wunsch den ich sehr gern erfüllt habe

ich mache alles
für mich war es auch das erste mal, dass ich am strand
mein instrument spielte
bilder und filme folgen noch

an alle zukünftigen reiseleiter

wenn ihr gäste habt, die ihr mögt und die am kommenden morgen abereisen, dürft ihr sie gerne einladen auf nen drink oder so. eine bitte nur: trigt keine brille. denn es könnte zur kissenschlacht ausarten;-)
